PREMIERE: ROP X LINDSAY DEGEN

Adam Jones collaborated with knitwear designer Lindsay Degen on the first film in the ROP X series, a short featuring Degen’s SS13 collection. Somewhere between art project and contemporary fashion label, Degen’s eponymous line questions and redefines sartorial boundaries (her last collection included sweaters and tops with crocheted nipples and bottoms adorned with pubic hair made of yarn). Her debut installation of large-scale knit sculptures that combined the shapes of body parts and clothing staples focused on the “cultural anxiety and familiarity concerning the human figure, creating a dialogue that reveals the quirky, absurd, and relentlessly humorous visual language of the body.” UK-based Adam Jones is a multi-media artist who focuses on experimental video, photography, and installation. His films combine innovative cinematography with digital collage, creating pieces that engage and inspire, and challenge the typical “fashion film.”

ROP X is a collaborative series that pairs creative individuals together whose projects range from short films to performances and poetry readings.
